Free AI Image Generator
Hey, welcome back. How are you all doing this week? I have got a good one for you this time: Free AI image Generator. Not just one, but six of them in total! So what are we waiting for? Let’s go!
Since AI suddenly gained huge popularity a few years ago, the demand for the best AI image generator has been skyrocketing over time. The most popular ones are Midjourney and DALL·E by Open AI, but they both require payment either by subscription or by buying their credits. Well, as a cheapskate myself, I am going to show you six AI image generators, which you could use for free starting today. No complicated installation is needed and they are all browser-based!
Leonardo.ai
I have been using Leonardo.ai since 2023. It has to be one of the best free AI image generators in the market right now. The image quality is as good as the paid ones in some art styles, and their free plan is quite generous as well. You get 150 tokens, and they reset daily, depending on the image dimension, the number of images you generate each time, the model that you use to generate, etc. Each image takes 1 to 5 credits, that’s a total of 30 to 150 images per day.
Ideogram
Ideogram was first announced back in August last year and has gained momentum since the launch. There is a lot of hype around it, and many YouTube creators have branded it the best AI image generator. In my personal opinion, Ideogram excels in certain areas, noticeably when dealing with words or typography. For the free plan, it gives users 25 prompts per day; 4 images are generated for each prompt, so you get 100 images daily, which I think is enough for a casual user.
Adobe Firefly
Adobe Firefly was launched in March 2023. The most talked-about feature has to be the generative fill tool it offers. With generative fill, users can add, replace, or remove objects and backgrounds from any image. I have tried it myself and I have to say, “It is amazing!”. I wish there were more free credits so I could play around with this feature. When you register a free account with Adobe, you get 25 monthly generative credits…yes, MONTHLY. 4 images will be generated for each credit, so you get 100 images every month. Oh, keep that in mind, there will be a watermark on each image for the free plan.
Gencraft
I came across Gencraft recently, and it was created by Hive.ai. What I have to say is that if you are looking for a photo-realistic image, then it may not be the right one for you. According to my personal experience and from exploring the gallery, the images that Gencraft generates are more oriented towards animation, anime, or cartoonish type of styles. I will show you some examples below when I do the comparison. The free plan comes with 5 credits daily, and there are only 2 images per each generation, which means you can generate 10 images in total per day.
Nightcafe
https://creator.nightcafe.studio/
Nightcafe has been in the market since 2019. At the beginning, it used to offer unlimited creations for free, but now a user gets 5 free credits each day that they log in or use the app. One image is generated per credit. There is a base Stable diffusion model that costs 0 credit to generate, but if you want to use more refined models to generate better quality ones, you can generate 5 images per day. However, there are ways to earn free credits, like publishing your image creation or earning badges. As per the image quality, Nightcafe excels in some areas but, similar to Gencraft, it’s not as photo-realistic as the other AI image generators I mentioned above.
Hotpot.ai
Well, according to my personal experience, the images I generated with Hotpot.ai were mediocre, I have to say. But why would I mention it, you ask? For someone who is new to AI image generation and wants to try testing out how to write a proper prompt without having to pay, Hotpot.ai could be the perfect place for them. If you are generating a 1:1 ratio image, no credit is needed, which means users can generate as many images as they want. Unfortunately, that’s the only pro I can think of about Hotpot.ai.
Performance
Okay, now I have introduced all six AI image generators to you. For the following part, I am going to show you how they performed when I used the same prompt on all the platforms. This is based on the models or styles I picked, which, in my opinion, suit the prompt the best. Also, I didn’t use any negative prompts in order not to complicate things intentionally. You can see which outcome you like the best.
Prompt 1
“Full body shot of a cute Asian young female playing with her short pink hair, wearing white blouse and jeans, ultra photorealistic, sunny day”
Prompt 2
“Anime style black Shiba wearing ninja costume, running in the forest at night, atmospheric lighting”
Prompt 3
“Logo design for a bagel shop, retro style, bright contrast color, bold outline”
Prompt 4
“A painting of Hogwarts in Claude Monet style, night time, dramatic lighting and atmosphere”
Conclusion
So, what do you think? Which Free AI image generator you like the best? Personally I like Ideogram and Leonardo AI the most, let me know your thoughts by leaving a message down below. Okay, that’s all for today, I will see you all next sunday, stay chill!
